Kentucky Divorce

Kentucky Divorce Residency Requirements

To file for Kentucky divorce, either party must have been a resident of the State, or member of the armed services stationed in Kentucky for at least 180 days prior to filing for divorce.

Kentucky Divorce Filing Requirements

Kentucky divorce may be filed in the county where either party resides.

Kentucky Divorce Grounds

The only ground for Kentucky divorce is the irretrievable breakdown of the marriage. A Kentucky divorce will not be granted, however, until the parties have lived apart for 60 days. Living apart includes living in the same house but not engaging in marital relations.
