Attorney Biography

Mr. Kaplan is the principal in Marc J. Kaplan, Attorney at Law, LLC, emphasizing Domestic, Legal Malpractice, Personal Injury, and Civil Litigation. Kaplan received his law degree in 1983 from the University of Denver College of Law, with a specialization in Advocacy Skills. Kaplan received several awards for trial skills in state and national competitions, and was selected as a teaching assistant to retired Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Edward E. Pringle. Kaplan received his undergraduate degree in Public Policy Studies, with a concentration in communications, from the Institute of Policy Services and Public Affairs at Duke University, in 1979. From 1990 through 1992, Kaplan returned to the law school as a Lawyering Process Adjunct Professor.

Mr. Kaplan is Immediate Past President of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, represented Colorado as a State Delegate to the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and served on the Board of Governors of the Colorado Bar Association. Kaplan recently served as a member of the Colorado Supreme Court Committee on County and District Court Civil Jurisdiction and Access Issues. Kaplan is a contributing author to the Colorado Auto Litigator’s Handbook. He is a member of the Thompson G. Marsh Inn of Court, the Faculty of Federal Advocates, and numerous Bar Associations
