Diana Mercer, Esq. is an Attorney-Mediator and the founder of Peace Talks Mediation Services in West Los Angeles (www.peace-talks.com). A veteran litigator, she now devotes her practice solely to mediation. Outgoing and down-to-earth, she makes clients and attorneys feel at ease in solving divorce and family law issues. She is the author of Your Divorce Advisor: A Lawyer and a Psychologist Guide You Through the Legal and Emotional Landscape of Divorce (Fireside 2001). She's an Advanced Practitioner Member of the Association for Conflict Resolution and has a regular column in the Los Angeles Daily Journal.

Mediation:  Diana has been a mediator since 1994, and has mediated over 1400 divorce and family law cases. She serves on mediation panels for the Los Angeles Superior Court and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, in addition to her mediation volunteer work with several other organizations.

Mediation Style: Diana's style is no-nonsense and solution-oriented. She's down-to-earth and works with the parties to decide how they'd like to conduct the mediation, and their goals for the process.

Additional Services: As an attorney, Diana can do any necessary legal drafting and provide legal information, although she does not give legal advice as a mediator. She also works as a mediation coach and support attorneys for parties who are mediating their divorce with another mediator, or representing themselves.

Diana is a graduate of Indiana University (B.A. 1985) and Indiana University School of Law (J.D. 1988). She received the American Jurisprudence Award for Excellence while in law school.

Diana received her first mediation training with a 60 hour course in 1994, and has since completed over 200 additional hours of mediation training.
